Transforming Rubber From Within

Our severe first trade fair presence has been an enormous success for UPM Biochemicals and our Renewable Functional Filler (RFF). We displayed real products, walked booth visitors through our sustainable value chains starting in the wood and showed how our future-proof renewable solutions and materials are innovatively applied in our Biofore car – a Meisterstück of future-proof renewable solutions and materials innovatively applied in automotive context.
At hall 9, booth 517, we presented UPM BioMotion™ Renewable Functional Fillers (RFF), a breakthrough new generation of sustainable materials for rubber and plastics. RFF are wood-based functional fillers, ready to replace fossil-based, highly CO₂-intensive carbon black and precipitated silica. They were rewarded recently by the European Rubber Journal and ranked as number one of today's most important sustainability projects in the elastomers and rubber industry.

At DKT IRC 2021, the rubber and elastomer industry met and exchanged ideas on how to shape the world of tomorrow. The trade show and conference showcased the latest scientific findings on the production and behaviour of rubber, elastomers and thermoplastic elastomers. Companies worldwide presented their products and innovations: finished products, raw materials, auxiliary materials, testing and analysis equipment and apparatus, and special industry software.
