UPM shortlisted at the 2022 Sustainability Awards

Packaging Europe magazine has chosen UPM Biochemicals renewable glycols products as one of the standout innovations for its 2022 Sustainability Awards.

UPM’s renewable glycols product – which enables packaged goods manufacturers to switch effortlessly from fossil-based resources – was selected as a finalist in the category for renewable materials (pre-commercialized.)

The magazine recognizes the most important sustainable innovations across the packaging value chain each year.

UPM’s renewable glycols, sourced from sustainably managed forests, act exactly like their oil-based counterpart and integrate seamlessly into existing manufacturing, recycling and packaged goods. It therefore provides leading brands with unique and scalable opportunity to deliver on their net zero promises - and satisfy consumer demand for sustainable and renewable goods.

The Sustainability Awards judges are drawn from the leading packaging goods companies and retailers across Europe and their mission is to accelerate positive impacts and nurture cross-fertilization of ideas.

It is an honour to be recognized by the packaging industry alongside with other forward-thinking companies. Congratulations to the team at our facility in Leuna!

The winner will be announced at the Innovation Horizons event in Amsterdam on November 14. Stay tuned!
