UPM provides various grades of lignin for polymer blends and bioplastics. We continuously develop our product portfolio towards new variants, e.g. with hydrophobicity and no or low odor.
First, lignin adds strength: it’s part of the polymer matrix and not only a filler. Lignin interacts well with other components and offers good dispersibility thanks to its low particle size.
In comparison to other natural fillers, lignin offers UV and temperature stability, and even enhances moisture resistance.
